Cajun Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 medium (8 ounces) russet potato, scrubbed 
  • 1 tablespoon salt 
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil 
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper 
  • 1/8 teaspoon coarse black pepper 
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme 
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 
  • Celery seed, to taste 
  • Salt, to taste

Directions

  1. Cut potato in 1/4 x 1/4-inch pieces. Rinse cut potato in cold water to remove starch. Cover with fresh cold water, add 1 tablespoon salt, and stir until salt is dissolved. Refrigerate up to 2 days. Drain, rinse, and pat pieces dry with paper towels. 
  2. In a large bowl, combine fries, vegetable oil, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne and black pepper, and thyme. Toss until fries are evenly coated. 
  3. In air fry basket, arrange fries in a single layer. Set air fryer temperature on 400°F. 
  4. Shaking basket every 5 minutes, cook until fries are golden brown, 14 to 16 minutes. 
  5. Sprinkle fries with parsley, and celery seed, and salt, if desired. 

Serves: 1-2
