Questions & Answers / Food Processors

You have questions we have the answers (Mid-Size #70100)

How do I assemble the unit?

PLEASE REFERENCE THE USE AND CARE PROVIDED WITH THIS UNIT. REFERENCE DIRECTLY THE 'KNOW YOUR PROCESSOR' AND 'HOW TO ASSEMBLE SECTIONs OF THE MANUAL.'

1. Make sure the unit is switched to OFF and unplugged from electrical outlet.
2. Place base on clean, dry, level surface.
3. Place bowl on base. Turn the bowl clockwise until it locks in place.
4. To use the S-Blade: place the S-Blade onto the center shaft in the center of the bowl. The blade is sharp, handle carefully. When using the blade to chop firm vegetables, meats, & cheeses, the unit must be fully assembled with cover locked securely in place. Plug processor into electrical outlet. Turn unit On and drop food through food chute while blade is running. The S-Blade must be in place prior to placing any food in bowl.
5. To use the Slicing/Shredding Disc: place disc shaft over the center shaft in bowl. Place the reversible slicing/shredding disc onto top of shaft with the desired cutting edge facing up.
6. Place cover on bowl, lining up the dot on the cover with the bowl handle. Rotate clockwise until the cover locks into place. The motor will not operate unless the cover interlocking mechanism is properly engaged.
7. The processor has an ON/OFF/PULSE three position rocker switch. Push the switch to ON for continuous operation. Push the switch to Pulse and release to turn the processor off. The PULSE position will operate the unit only as long as the switch is held in that position. When the PULSE position is released the unit will automatically turn OFF.

Why won't the food processor start?

Because the bowl and cover are not locked in place. The interlock safety switch is not engaged, because the cover has not been turned far enough clockwise to engage. To ensure this does not happen see below:
